Geocache Description:

A pleasant walk along part of the Estuary Trail.

During the winter Avocets are easy to spot with their black-and-white plumage, and curved bills. The birds will often get together in flocks of up to 500, sweeping the mud in search of food. The estuary of the River Exe is renowned nationally and beyond as a site of special scientific interest and an important habitat for wading and migrating birds. The Avocet is included on the Amber List of UK birds of conservation concern due to its localised distribution in Britain and elsewhere in Europe.

You are looking for a black cylindrical container, big enough for small travel bugs or geo-coins. From the location of the cache site you will be able to see the hundreds of Avocet birds that feed on the Exe. At the time of placing cache contains, log book, pencil, Geofix60 nach Peru TB and £1 coin for FTF.
