Geocache Description:

Ericles and I were out paddling in the Meadowlands today, and we thought this area could definitely use another cache. As luck would have it, we just so happened to have another ready-made cache with us on the excursion.

This area is definitely one of my favorite places in northern New Jersey. The scenery across the tidal marsh is stunning with the juxtaposition of this natural oasis against the New York City skyline. It was surreal paddling around in such a beautiful area and seeing the top of the Empire State Building peeking up over the top of the Palisades.

The cache requires a canoe or kayak and cannot be reached from the New Jersey Turnpike. The Hackensack River is tidal, and the currents can be quite strong. Please plan your trip accordingly and set out well before high tide. The cache was placed at high tide without much difficulty, but access at low tide may be quite a bit more difficult.

Additional waypoint is for the Mill Creek Point boat launch.
