The strangest thing I encountered here when exploring the area
was the "amphitheatre," a collection of what appears to be stone
benches. I've seen pews under a pavilion before, but never stone
benches. I wonder when it was constructed. Gives the place a kind
of Stonehenge feel to it. There's also a marker for a man whose son
was killed in the war of 1812 (don't see that in lot of cemeteries
in this part of the country), and an interesting metal marker for a
veteran of the Confederate States of America.
