Geocache Description:

This cache is one of seven in my "Let's Read" Library Series of caches (see details below.) This one is down the street from the library.

The cache container holds a log, a pencil, and a few small trade items, including a geopin for the FTF.

It also contains a question to help solve the seventh "Let's Read Puzzle Cache." (You will need to walk to the library to answer the question.)

Let's Read Library Series

Background
In 2000, the residents of San Jose voted to pass a $212 million Library Bond Measure to build 6 new branches and remodel 14 of the 17 neighborhood libraries.

We are now enjoying the benefits of several new and remodeled neighborhood branches that not only include state-of-the-art libraries, but also provide Internet cafes, public art displays, and even community centers.

Our family spends enough time visiting our local libraries that we felt it was quite fitting to put together our own "Let's Read" series at our favorite local branches.

Details about this Series
Here are the seven caches in the "Let's Read" Library Series:
Note: The "Let's Read Puzzle Cache" requires you to find the other six caches first, and answer the library-related question included with each of the six caches. Don't forget to write down and save your answers to all six questions if you want to find the "Let's Read Puzzle Cache."

The Santa Teresa Library
The Santa Teresa branch re-opened on February 6th, 2010. We were there on opening day, and were very impressed with the beautiful orchard themed artwork (by Beatrice Coron) and overall design (by Studios of San Francisco.) We were also lucky enough to get a behind-the-scenes tour of their new (and very cool) Book Sorting Machine (nicknamed "the Book Bot.")

The artistic theme of this library is "Cultivate your Mind in the Orchard of Knowledge," which is displayed on a "welcome mat" at the main entrance to the library. Check it out!

Congratulations to oaknest for being FTF!
