Geocache Description:

Parking available at N057.22.141 W002.04.502
Easy terrain. Cache is hidden a short distance from path. The cache is hidden in the McDonald Park which forms part of the Ellon circular walk. The path goes through the East McDonald parklands. The parkland is named after it's benefactor Sir James McDonald who, in 1926 gifted the old woodlands to the people of Ellon.
This is a themed canine cache, as the name suggests. It is a tribute to my first dog 'Laddie' a very clever spaniel/collie cross & also all those caching hounds who accompany us in the endless search for treasure! Usually this is done with no other reward other than a good walk. This cache is different in that all the swaps are doggie related and sure to be of interest to our caching hounds. Don't worry if you don't have a doggie swap! Everything is of interest to a caching hound!!
Although you won't see Laddie, he's here in spirit as this was a daily walk from Castle Park down to Hospital Road when building our house. My how things have changed in this part of the wood the farm is no longer there making way for the further development of McDonald Parkland houses, if you continue round to do the other caches in the series keep an eye out for Hollie the 'Wandering Westie'. She would like to see pictures of fellow caching hounds enjoying this walk, so if you can, - please post them on your log.

Laddie wants you to visit his cache even if you don't have a caching hound!

Parking can also be obtained at Castlepark Community Centre:-N057.22.152 W002.03.903.
