Saphan Tak Sin Bridge, pier and BTS Station
The meeting of all transport and the river. The center for the river boat bus service with connection with the BTS system. The Boat Bus service is a fast and efficient way to beat the traffic especially for tourists. The Pier here will have river busses that take one to the Grand Palace and the more northern parts of Bangkok. It will also service southern piers as well almost all the way to the ocean. This is also where the "Tourist Boat" departs from I think every Sunday. Hotels near by are Oriental, Shangri La and have river shuttle boats as well as many of the hotels on the "Other Side" of the river. Royal Garden, Peninsula and a few others. These shuttles are free. This is an oldish area of town getting older the further north you go up Charoen Krung & "New Road". Take time to look in the stores especially the old ones. There is also an interesting Chinese Temple east along the road on the north side and after that you will reach Charoen Krung road and
