Geocache Description:

Green plastic box.

Bring a writing utensil to sign the log. I can not guarantee there will be one in the box.

This cache is placed on what use to be the right of way for the Southern Pacific railroad. This line was built around 1910 from Lafayette to Anchorage where a train ferry carried the trains to Baton Rouge. The line was wiped out by the Atchafalaya River flood of 1927 but this portion of the line was not abandoned until 1934.

This area may be busy during sugar cane harvesting(Oct-Dec). If so, come back at a later time.
