Did you know that Pownal has 23 Cemeteries/Burial Grounds? There is only one other town in the state of Vermont that has more than Pownal.
Most are farm burial lots on private property. So to place a cache at all 23 will not be a possiblity.
I however plan to make this my first cache in a series of Cemetery Caches in Pownal.
This cache is placed in the Morgan-Towslee Cemetery, which is the resting place of Pownal famlies dating back to the 1700's, this is a beautiful cemetery next to a cow pasture. Please park near the road and walk in. No need to look for the cache near any gravesite. Please B.Y.O.P., May be room for very small trade items.
If you have time, two other cemeteries in Pownal already have caches ready to find in them. North Pownal Cemetery is the home of the "Indian Massacre" Cache, and Bushnell & Barney Lot is the home of the "Holy Cow is that New York?" cache (tough one I have yet to find myself). Both beautiful places within Pownal's Green Pastures..
