Geocache Description:

A series of caches on local park where the wife and I used go and relax when we first met each other.

The future King Charles II stopped here to play bowls on his way from the battle of Worcester to Bentley. Millions of people have been to see the Park and traffic jams are caused on many days by cars slowing down to see it (between Junctions 9 and 10 on the M6). The mail route from London to Holyhead was not allowed to pass through the area - it went via Bilston instead. The railway came closer and skirted the Park, as does the M6, which is raised to give a better view. Bescot Hall on the edge of the Park has housed many famous people. I can't find anyone who as lived there so another part to this visit is can you tell me anyone.

Parking is available at car park in Montfort Road but is locked at night time. Entrance to the park is also available in next street Slaney Road where the gate is open 24/7. Approval given By Walsall Green Space and information gained by Mobile Park Ranger(Sam) Thankyou.

Congratulations
