PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF SIGNS ON GATES On footpath accessed by stile. Can be muddy. Not suitable for wheel chairs or pushchairs.
Ideford arch looks like a railway bridge but was one of the first road bridges over a road when it was built in 1810. When the A380 was upgraded to a dual carriageway in the 1970s the scalpings and excations were deposited on the obsolete road but NOT on the bridge -hence the sudden dip in the footpath level.
