The Struthers Historical Society is located at
the corner of Poland Ave. and Terrace St. and was built in 1884 by
Alexander Frankfort for his wife and daughter. The land was
purchased from Thomas Struthers for $190. There are many paintings,
photographs and other artifacts that were donated from the area in
the building.
Among the artifacts is the Shift Change Whistle
from the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co. When in operation, it could
be heard for 7 miles. There is also a permanent display of
artifacts from the Hopewell Furnace.
Tours of the Struthers Historical Society are by
appointment only.
