Geocache Description:

Castle Eden Trading Cache

This is a medium/large cache which contains things to trade. I love going to a cache to find that there are items that can be traded and the anticipation of what is inside is great.
I would love it if when you visit this cache you come prepared with something to trade. I don’t mind what you trade just as long as you do trade.
It would be great for it to be used to swap coins and Travel Bugs as well as the usual trade items. It would also be great that on the logs there isn’t any TNLN signs.
Obviously, if you are just passing and don’t have anything to trade then please still feel free to bag the cache. It is only a preference for it to be kept well stocked.
It has a good stock of good quality goodies and surprises and I hope you like them.

The cache itself is situated in the Castle Eden Walkway which has many different walks and trails. This steep wooded Valley has been cut deep into soft limestone rock by the action of Castle Eden Burn as it finds its way down to the coast.
Much of what you can see here is ancient woodland, making an historical link with the original wildwood that long ago covered most of England. Because of the undisturbed nature of the Dene, a wealth of wildlife can be seen, including many flowers and insects.

A new gate has been placed at the entrance of the lane so yo must park up at the bus stop in Castle Eden near the golf course and walk down. I would hope that you not only come for the cache but also the lovely walk which the cache is placed at the start of.

It may not be suitable for wheelchairs or buggies due to the gate you have to get past initially.

Please take care to hide the cache as best you can as at this time of the year it's very open. It is covered by twigs and leaves at themoment until the weather changes.
