Geocache Description:

ISTANBUL ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUMS

The Istanbul Archaeological Museums is located in Istanbul's Sultanahmet neighborhood, on the Osman Hamdi Bey slope connecting the Gülhane Park with the Topkapi Palace. Its name is plural, since there are three different museums under the same administration: The Archaeological Museum, the Ancient Orient Museum (Eski Sark Eserleri Müzesi) and Tiled Kiosk Museum (Çinili Kösk Müzesi).

During an Istanbul Archaeological Museums tour, it is possible to visit the extraordinarily beautiful garden of the museum and the three different buildings inside this garden. Plase consult following web site for details about all three museums :
( http://www.istanbularkeoloji.gov.tr/about_the_museum ) We hid a small round plastic box wrapped in camouflage textile in the garden between stone blocks. In order to hide the box, we placed a stone cube over the box. The box contains, in addition to regular stuff like pencil, log-book, etc, several blue glass "nazar"s against evil-eyes [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evil_eye]. These nazars will not only protect you from bad eyes but they will bring you good luck if you keep them with you. A logical benefit of these beads is therefore to increase your FTF rate :) For those who are not superstitious, there are several Murano glass beads to take away :)

I suggest you to visit all three museums after your find. They are amazing!

Museums are open from 9 am to 4 pm all days of the week, except on Mondays. Entrance fee is 10 Turkish Liras (approx. 5 euros)

Müze, Pazartesi hariç, her gün saat 09.00 - 16.00 saatleri arasinda açik. Giris ücreti 10 TL.
