Geocache Description:


At the time of Boshin war,350 boarded ship went to Hokkaido from Yokohama.They were dispatched to suppress navy lieutenant governor Takeaki Enomoto of the old Shogunate.
However, The ship has sunk,because encountered a rainstorm at Katsuura offing.
Inhabitants of Kawatsu dealt with a rescue operation, but have sent 130 victims.
Bury this victim, and it is Imperial army mound to have held a service.

官軍塚
戊辰(ぼしん)戦争のとき、旧幕府の海軍副総督榎本武揚(えのもとたけあき)を鎮圧するため寺尾九郎右衛門の指揮す る部隊350人の乗った船が、横浜から北海道に向かいました。しかし勝浦沖で暴風雨に遭い船は沈没してしまいました。川津の住民が救助活動にあたりましたが130人の犠牲者を出してしまいました。この遭難者を埋葬、供養したのが官軍塚です。
