Geocache Description:

Futtsu cape was private citizen was prohibited from an entrance since Meiji until the Pacific Wars,Because it was a fortified zone.
Therefore left a lot of untouched nature.
There are two islands prepared land for capital defense. at the tip of the Futtsu cape From Meiji to Taisho era.
Barracks and a battery were built here, and it was managed to the World War II end as a military institution.
I hide the cache in a commemorative sail.
You can command a whole view of Miura Peninsula from here and, on a clear day of the air, can watch Mt. Fuji, too.

富津岬は明治以来、太平洋戦争まで要塞地帯で民間人は立入禁止となっていたため、手つかずの自然が多く残されています。
富津岬の先端には第一海堡・第二海堡と呼ばれる人工島があります。
これは明治から大正にかけて首都防衛のために造成されたもので、兵舎や砲台などが建設され第二次世界大戦終了まで軍事用施設として運用されていました。
過去には干潮のときだけ岬と海堡が陸続きになり、第一海堡まで歩いて渡ることができましたが、現在では展望塔から眺めることしかできません。
キャッシュは明治１００年記念展望塔に隠しました。
ここからは東京湾を一望できるだけでなく、冬場の空気の澄んだ時には、富士山もくっきり見ることができます。
富津岬は関東の富士見100景やちば眺望100景にも選ばれています。
