Rookie Boy: As much as I would rather keep this alive, I haven't even had time to check on or replace the cache. Time to shut it down.

Geocache Description:

A tribute to First Nations soldiers

I was doing the nearby Brock's 1812 Overture cache and noticed a small display of wreaths and information in front of the monument. It was placed in memory of fallen First Nation soldiers. As it was around Remembrance Day I felt happy to see it. It reminded me of the other members of Canada's founding groups. So often we think of English and French soldiers but overlook First Nations. And as I looked into it a bit, I discovered many references to their involvement even back in the war of 1812.

A statement I found in Wikipedia sums it up nicely "The combined British, Canadian, and First Nations forces eventually won a resounding victory" referring to the battle at Queenston Heights. I place this cache as a tribute to their involvements.

A small lock 'n' lock container.
