Geocache Description:

Aarey Milk Colony (may be called as “lungs of Mumbai” – for fresh air & greenery), – ahead of Picnic Garden (Picnic Udyan) – drive / walk straight from Main gate/entrance of Picnic Udyan – till you come to a tribal temple (established in 1835) entrance. Go straight on the road - & 2 roads before the cement bridge - CACHE here.

The cache can be reached by car/motorbike/cycle/walking and the vehicle parked on the road, just next to the cache. BEST public transport Buses also ply on Aarey road. Get down at Picnic Udyan (Picnic Garden) bus stop and walk to the Picnic Udyan. Instead of entering the Picnic Garden, continue walking to the cache.

At Goregaon East, on the Western Express Highway, enter the Aarey Milk Colony [Also known as Aarey Road for Royal Palms (emerging real estate – residential buildings, hotels, villas)]. This Junction’s co-ordinates are: N 19° 09.968’ & E 072° 51.537’. A police booth guards this junction. You may see some policemen checking vehicles/drivers for their licenses. The first thing that meets you is the AAREY CHECK NAKA (toll booth) where Rs. 15/- is the entry fee for a car & a coupon is issued on payment.

Now drive straight till you come a lake where boating facility is available for the people. A road goes up to a garden known as CHHOTA KASHMIR OBSERVATORY PARK (N 19° 09.812’ & E 072° 52.412’). If you want to see this garden, take the road up & you will see the AAREY POLICE STATION. Go up and reach the entrance of this Observatory Park. This CHHOTA KASHMIR Observatory Park has exotic trees and colorful flowers and is very beautiful. Fruitful for macro-photography/ garden-photography / landscape-photography enthusiasts. Chhota means small. And beautiful like Kashmir! (no snow, though).

Otherwise continue going straight on the road below to the CHHOTA KASHMIR BOAT CLUB & LAKE (N 19° 09.651’ & E 072° 52.348’). Both the observatory park and boat club-lake are beautiful spots with lots of picnickers. You may stop here and have the pleasure of boating in this lake.

Going ahead, you will see a blue-and-white colored mosaic hut-shaped cement structure that is labeled as PICNIC CHOWKY No.2 AAREY POLICE BOOTH in Marathi. Just off the road, on the same side of the Picnic Chowky, is the PICNIC UDYAN main entrance gate (N 19° 08.155’ & E 072° 52.956’). If you wish to see this picnic spot inside, buy the nominally charged ticket and enter.

Now this PICNIC UDYAN’s / PICNIC GARDEN’s main entrance gate is just off the main Aarey Road on which the Boat Club is situated. There is only 1 single road that goes straight ahead of PICNIC UDYAN’s / PICNIC GARDEN’s main entrance gate. Take this road and you will see the entrance to ancient Tribal Temple (N 19° 08.367’ & E 072° 53.087’) on the side of the road. The name of this temple is MAROSHI AADIWASI WARLI SAMAJ GAON DEVI MANDIR established in 1835. If you wish to see this temple, then enter the temple gate. Or continuing straight on the road, you are near the cache. You may overshoot the cache to pass a small cemented platform of a bridge-like structure on both sides of the street. You can sit on this platform and watch the small stream flowing below it.

Walk 2 roads back, until you reach ground zero on your GPS. See the hint. Find the divider in the forest. Cache hidden under stones.

CACHE is a small, sandwich-sized or a bit smaller sized transparent plastic box.
All wrapped in 2 airtight plastic lockbags.

P.S. Plz carry a pen / pencil to make a log entry.
