Geocache Description:

This is the sixth in a series of caches celebrating the town of Buckhurst Hill. The cache is a large plastic tub hidden next to a fragrant, but poorly lit path, alongside the River Roding.

The River Roding is a tributary of the Thames. It meanders roughly Southbound from the heart of Essex to Old Father Thames at the appropriately named Creekmouth. On its way it forms the Eastern border of our home town Buckhurst Hill, which is why it’s included in this series.

Nestling in one of the bends of the river is a (man-made?) lake with a very peculiar shape (see the attached photo). It’s no longer possible to walk all the way around the lake, but along the path on which you’ll find yourself are some now defunct crossings to the lake. We've place the cache close to one of these. Be careful of muggles tending to their beans in the nearby allotments and please to ensure that the many other people sharing the path can't see it.
