This is a roadside cache located at the entrance of a historic farm settlement. The owner is aware of the cache.
The cache is a magnetic 10cm X 6cm tin container.
Enjoy the historic surroundings, while learning a bit of history!

The historic farm settlement, Krugerspost, lies in the picturesque Kranskloof valley, some 23 kilometres north of Lydenburg. Here, Pieter Ernst Kruger, a cousin of Paul Kruger, established his farm in the late 1840’s.
The area has a rich heritage of Boer history, starting with the Voortrekkers settling in the Ohrigstad area in the early 1840’s.
Some historic siters are:
• Verraaiersnek, where 37 burgers were captured by the British forces during the Anglo Boer war in 1901.
• The Krugerspost and Kranskloof cemeteries with the graves of Pieter Ernst Kruger, Senator Schalk Willem Burger and Abel Erasmus still in tact. The oldest legible graves date back to 1849 and 1855.
• The remains of the homestead of Senator Schalk Willem Burger (Acting President of the ZAR in 1902).
• The Jock of the Bushveld beacon on site of the then Seedling’s Store and Lodge. This was where the “Transportryers” stayed over during their travels to and from the goldfields and Lowveld.
Lately, Krugerspost is a peaceful farming area where some of the decedents of the Krugers, Erasmus and Burgers are still living.
The farm is close to the popular tourist destinations like Ohrigstad (23km), Lydenburg (23km), Pilgrimsrest (27km) and Graskop (50km).
