Geocache Description:

The Cache is at the above coordinates.
You must complete the challenge to log this cache as "Found."

Welcome to the Utah Nearest Neighbor County Challenge. This challenge is designed to get you out of your home county and visit your neighboring counties - and not exactly at your leisure.

There are two levels to this challenge:

Top Ten Level: Be one of the first ten cachers to find one cache in your home county AND be one of the first ten cachers to find one cache in each of the neighboring counties contiguous to your home county. Unlike the Utah's Top Ten Challenge (GC27YZV), find order doesn't matter. What matters is that you are one of the first ten to find the cache.

FTF Level: Be first to find one cache in your home county AND be first to find one cache in each of the neighboring counties contiguous to your home county.

Regardless of which county you live in, you must have a qualifying find in your home county and all contiguous counties. If you live in a county that just happens to be contiguous to a county in another state, you must have a qualifying find in that county. If you live in a county that is in one of the corners of our state, you’ll end up needing qualifying finds in all three states to meet the challenge (four, if you live in San Juan County) – whatever counties share a border with yours.

Any cache type, size, difficulty, or terrain will qualify for this challenge. This is not a Utah only challenge, it merely resides in Utah. If you can document meeting this challenge in Indiana, Alabama, or any other state, you can log this challenge when you visit Utah.

All previous qualifying finds count. Since this challenge is based on how quickly you can find your qualifying caches, hides do not count.

Example 1: I live in Salt Lake County. To qualify for the FTF Level, I would need to have an FTF in Salt Lake County and an FTF in each of the following counties: Davis, Morgan, Summit, Wasatch, Utah, & Tooele; for a total of 7 FTFs.

Example 2: If you live in Piute County, to qualify for the Top Ten Level, you will need to be one of the first ten to find a cache in Piute County, as well as, Sevier, Wayne, Garfield, & Beaver Counties; for a total of 5 caches that you were one of the first ten to find.

Example 3: If you live in Washington County, to qualify for the FTF Level, you will need to have an FTF in Washington County and Iron & Kane Counties in Utah, Mohave County in Arizona, and Lincoln County in Nevada; for a total of 5 FTFs.

I think you get the idea.

Whichever level you aspire to is up to you. You can log this challenge as found for each level that you complete. As such, FTF can be claimed on this challenge, and will be acknowledged for the First to Complete each of the two levels.

You can not use the same caches to qualify for both levels. However, you can use FTFs on the Top Ten Level, as long as you don't use them on the FTF Level.

Please specify which level you have completed and list your qualifying caches in your log in the following format:

Home County:
County - GCXXXX - Cache Name – Find Date - Find Order (1st, 7th, etc)

Neighbor Counties
County - GCXXXX - Cache Name – Find Date - Find Order
Etc.
Etc.
Etc.

This cache will require a writing stick and stealth.

Please place back exactly how you found it.

Please let me know if this cache needs attention.

Happy caching!
