This Danish East Indiaman was commanded by Captain Andreas Christij. She left Copenhagen on 1 July 1782 on a voyage to Bengal. She arrived in False bay on 17 May 1783 after a 10 month voyage in which many of her crew died of scurvy.
In Simon's Bay she took onboard two Indian girls and seven lascars, all of whom had survived the wreck of the Grosvenor on 4 August 1782 off Pondoland. She was accompanied by the Kroonprins. One of the girls and four of the lascars subsequently died when the Nicobar was wrecked on Quion Point on 11 July 1783.
Soon after the wreck occurred it was looted by some farmers from the Stellenbosch district. The wrecksite was discovered in 1987 and a large amount of Swedish copper plate money was recovered. Twelve cast iron cannon litter the site.
