Geocache Description:

This cache is named after the iconic sculpture that graces this sweeping bend. The Sandringham Swimmer is a sculpture by the late Guy Boyd who lived in Sandringham for many years and sculpted by his daughter Lenore Boyd. The sculpture relief depicts important elements of the municipality and the native gardens surrounding the sculpture show Australian native plants used by original aboriginal inhabitants for food and medicinal purposes. Beyond the sculpture and cultivated gardens is a small section of native bushland - one of the small pieces that still remains around the council chambers and gives a sense of what the area was once like. Follow the path into the bushland and your cache awaits - you are looking for a black 400ml Sistema containing swaps and a logbook. From the statue head directly west, and follow the clearing in. Do not approach from the north or from the council chambers carpark.
