This is our 4th cache placed so far. It is a peanutbutter 2L container wrapped in camo tape. Inside the cache there is a pen and some toys. For First to Find prize, we have left some Jungle animals as our son, Torsten wanted to share the jungle with you.
The cache is located along a trail just down from where the camp took place. To get to the trail, you can drive down the dirt road which again is down from the campgrounds they stayed at. Once on the dirt road, you can park your vehicle in the first campsite area on your left and walk up the trail. It is not a long walk up but it is a steep walk and can be difficult.
This cache was placed while Torsten (Man Cub) and his father (King Louie) were at camp with 1st Topsail Cubs. This was the first camp for the pack for the season and as a reminder of the great camp, we have placed a cache along the trail that they hiked! They named their camp "Camp Adventure" and that is where the cache gets it's name.
Cubs is the second age group within the Scouting movement. Torsten was a Beaver last year and this year, has swam up to Cubs. Within Cubs, the members get to experience many fun outdoor adventures and challenges. The Cubs motto is "Do Your Best" and they are encouraged to try new and more challenging activities on a daily basis. Besides learning about the outdoors, other program and badge work within Cubs, gets the boys and girls to learn about caring for pets, how to play musical instruments, and how to be a good teamplayer. The program gets the Cubs to try outdoor adventures and many different challenges that they thought were never possible to achieve.
This camp was a true test to what Cubs stands for. The cubs learned how to tie knots, prepare their lunch and cook it on a fire, how to make a fire to survive outside incase they get lost in the woods, what to include in a First Aid Kit and a Survival Kit, and many other skills. The Man Cubs had a blast at camp and with the Jungle animals (leaders) help, they learned a lot and had a great time doing it!!!
