Geocache Description:

I placed this cache to bring you to see a real Catalog Home. While you are at the cache site look just a little west of north and you will see the white catalog house.

Catalog Homes (sold as Modern Homes) were ready-to-assemble houses sold through a major mail order catalog. Over 70,000 of these were sold in North America between 1908 and 1940. Shipped via railroad boxcars, these kits included all the materials needed to build a house. Many were assembled by the new homeowner and friends, relatives, and neighbors, in a fashion similar to the traditional barn-raisings of farming families.

The cache is a log only so don't forget your pen. There can be a lot of muggles around so be on the look out. Enjoy the view of a piece of catalog history.
