Geocache Description:

Please be aware of mosquitoes guarding this Cache. Seem quite defiant in this humid weather. Recommend applying a good repellent before heading in!

New Entrance Rd follows the Macleay River as it heads out to sea. Along this rd at early morning or in the evening there are many Kangaroos to be seen grazing in the open grassed areas. The river itself often plays host to Dolphin pods which can be seen regularly to the patient observer. River traffic can be quite busy at peak times when hopeful fisherman head out to or return from the sea. Lunch on the banks of the river can provide some nice entertainment not to mention great views of Freedom Island and Mt Yarrahappini in the background. The cache has been placed away from the river to provide a little more of a challenge, some scrub bashing will be required though not too much. Always be aware of your surroundings and take care at anytime in when in the bush. Mozzie repellent is always advisable. GPS will jump around quite a bit here but if you head for the largest tree in the vicinity you will be spot on.
