Tucked away in one of Cambridge’s ubiquitous pocket parks, three multi-color arches beckon visitors to the river. Lloyd Hamrol’s The Gate House, installed in 1986, is comprised of three high-pointed steel archways arranged in a circular pattern on a raised brick-paved area of the park and painted in primary colors to allude to characteristics of the area (blue for the sea, red for the Cambridge brickwork, and yellow for New England's fall foliage) Hamrol’s work is found everywhere from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art to the Smithsonian Institution.
