My how this area has changed in a short time. This cache is placed
near the site of the CNW Clinton Car Shops. A lot of change has
happened in this area, and a lot of change is yet to come, but
let's not forget our history.
This cache is pretty much a park and grab so will be easy to get
the smilie, so spend a little time catching up on some of Clinton's
history before you run out and grab it! ~

Clinton Car Shops carman welds a damaged 40' boxcar.

A carman using a stencil and a spray gun to paint the then-new CNW
"Railway" logo on an eleven year old rivet-side 40' boxcar at the
Clinton Shops in 1959.
Mrs. Viola Sievers, one of the wipers at the roundhouse giving a
giant "H" class locomotive a bath of live steam, Clinton, Iowa.
Mrs. Sievers was the sole support of her mother and had a
son-in-law in the Army. April 1943
