Geocache Description:

Mt Tauhara is my favourite spot around Taupo, with the interesting flora and amazing views you get at the summit. Bring your camera!

The land is owned by Nga Hapu o Tauhara and managed by the Tauhara Mountain Trust. Access is by permission of the Trustees and may be withheld at any time. If we want to be able to continue enjoying the mountain, please respect the rules: stay on the track, no dogs, no firearms, light no fires. Thanks.

I've tried but failed to obtain permission to put a cache on the mountain. So my plans have now changed to this Multi. You'll have to get On and Off Mt Tauhara to find the cache.

The track is 3km long (one way) and elevation change will be 520m. The track can be slippery and is steep in places and requires a fair level of fitness. Most sunday trampers will complete the climb in 50-70 minutes. I've seen kids up there but the very young might struggle a bit too much.

To complete the cache:

1- Park near GZ. Nearby you will see a large sign.
"A" is the last digit present on the sign

2- Follow the track and proceed to WP2 S38 41.646 E176 09.793
There you should easily find a small sign where you will find the digits
WXYZ

3- Final, a short drive away
S38 4X.YXA
E176 0(5+W).XYZ

After having issues with a leaking Sistema container, the cache is now an ammo can. The hint is for the final.

Please re-hide carefully.
