Initialement
appelé « Le Sport d’Amiens » car il regroupait tous les sports
de l’époque (natation, , vélo,
équitation,
boxe…), le club
Sport Nautique d’Amiens a été fondé en 1866. C’est
apparemment en 1914 qu’il s’est spécialisé dans
l’aviron.
Les
guerres 14/18 et 39/45 ont partiellement voire totalement détruit
le bâtiment d’origine. Celui-ci a été reconstruit sous la
forme d’un chalet après la seconde guerre
mondiale.
Sur le
modèle d’origine, ce bâtiment de bois et briques a été
totalement reconstruit (et agrandi) en 1998 avec l’aide de la
Ville, le Département, la Région, l'Etat et l'Europe qui ont
participé au financement de ce projet. Il est équipé dorénavant
d’un ponton flottant pour assurer la mise à l’eau des
embarcations.
La
cache est une small. Soyez extrêmement
discret car c’est un lieu très
fréquenté !

This
superb building houses the Amiens
Rowing club.
Previously
known as “Le Sport d’Amiens”, because one could practice
many different sports (swimming, cycling, horseriding, boxing,…), the club was founded in 1866. Apparently
it specialised in Rowing from 1914.
The
1st and 2nd world wars destroyed part of, if not all of the
original building. This was later rebuilt in the form of chalet
after the 2dn WW.
The
original building was completely rebuilt (and extended) using
bricks and wood in 1998 with help from Amiens, the “
Département” Somme, the region
Picardie, the state and Europe who contributed
financially.
Nowadays
it is equiped with a floating pontoon
to launch boats into the water.
The cache is a “small”.
Be
very discreet because there are often lots of people
here!
