Geocache Description:

This wherigo is a Play-Anywhere version. The final geocache is not at the posted coordinates. In order to find it, complete the wherigo to be given the final coordinates. Solve the mystery in your backyard, a parking lot, a big field in a nearby park, wherever you like.

This wherigo is loosely based on the board game Clue. In Clue you are competing against other players to be the first to solve the murder of your host. In Clueless it is a solitaire version where you are competing against yourself to see how quickly you can solve the murder.

You play as Detective Humphrey, invited by Lord Chandler to Raymond Manor for a special dinner. There are six other guests at this dinner, and after the meal, your host is murdered. One of the other six dinner guests is guilty of murdering Lord Chandler, but which one?

In your investigation you will move throughout the nine rooms of Raymond Manor making inquiries for the murderer, the weapon, and the location. The rooms are connected by hallways, making all rooms not accessible from each other. In the corners of the Manor house are secret passages that make a room connection that would not otherwise be there. Your character has created a sketch of the floorplan for you to view during your investigation.

The guests will not willingly talk to you for fear of courting the wrath of the real murderer. Instead they have written down what they know on cards which they will show you in response to your questions. Using these responses you eliminate possiblities and what is left, are the facts.

Each guest has three cards they have written information on. They will only show you one card in response to each set of questions. The guests could have information on any subject (person, weapon, location) including having multiple information cards on the same subject.

There is an order that the guests will respond in:
  1. Mrs. Stanwyck
  2. Doctor Webb
  3. Professor Lorre
  4. Miss Lauren
  5. Mr. Welles
  6. Colonel Greenstreet

So If you say "Is it Miss Lauren, with the Candlestick, in the Lounge" and Doctor Webb has the Candlestick information while Mr. Welles has information on Miss Lauren, you will get Doctor Webb's information first. You will need to change the information you ask in order to elicite the response from Mr. Welles.

You also can make an accusation where you try to solve the case. You can make multiple accusations, but should your accusation prove false your score will be heavily penalized.

Each query and accusation adds to your score. You are competing to get the lowest score you can while solving the case. There is a ranking system that is based on your final score.

The information on the murder as well as the information each guest has, is randomly selected at the start of each game, so you can play this wherigo multiple times and not get the same result!
