Welcome to Flitwick - with a silent 'W'. This is a series of caches designed to increase Flitwick's presence on the caching map. They will be added gradually over the winter of 2010 / 2011. If you wish to chase the FTF you'll have to come here often. Alternatively you may want to wait till all of them (I'm intending for them to be 15 plus a bonus cache) to be in place. Plan your own route around the delights of Flitwick! Cache #2 has been set to create a cache site that I can see from my house! There is a history of permanent settlement on Flitwick Moor as early as 4000 BCE, but the village gained its greatest importance when the Romans built a road through Flitwick linking Ermine Street and Watling Street. However, the last of the properties on Beaumont Road were built in 2002! The cache is currently a black magnetic nano containing a log and nothing else, so I'd recommend you bring your own writing instrument just in case. You no longer need to bring a to bring a tall friend! Parking is available nearby - but check the restriction - as wardens are known to patrol! The site is wheelchair accessible, but assistance may be required for the cache itself. Be careful of muggles - especially youngsters using the nearby footpath or skateboarding in the middle of the road. Don't forget to collect the information needed for the bonus. This is written on the yellow sheet at the front of the log. NO IT ISN'T BUT THERE ISN'T A BONUS ANYWAY! Please log any issues / DNF's - as I can check the cache very easily.
