The Airville Bridge was built across the Tonawanda Creek by Abram Mook on October 29, 1860. It was a suspension bridge that was forty-eight paces long, with its ends resting on stones quarried at Indian Falls.
Mook, an early settler and well-to-do farmer, built the bridge so that he could access his properties located on both sides of the creek.
The bridge collapsed in 1976, never with any plan to rebuild.
However, this ending became a beginning for us. This is where Bill (of authorized users) proposed to Elizabeth (of authorized users) back on April 30, 2008. This also marked the date of when we first met, April 30, 2004.
As of the placement of this cache, we have been married for two years and going strong!
This dead end is definitely Not an End!
4/16/2015 - Original cache went missing, and has been replaced. If anyone happens to find the original cache, will you please contact us? Thank you!
10/31/2016 - Happy Halloween! The last cacher to find this moved the cache after finding it on the ground. We liked the location they put it in, so we kept it there. We upped the difficulty by a half star due to the new way it is hidden, but the coords and terrain remain the same.
