Tämä kätkö on toinen Tornien-taisto sarjaani. Näiden kätköjen sarja
esittelee osan Porilaisista lintutorneista sekä niiden
ympäristöstä.
Tornien taisto on BirdLife Suomen järjestämä leikkimielinen
kilpailu, jossa pyritään havaitsemaan lintutornista mahdollisimman
monta lajia kahdeksassa tunnissa. Samalla tehdään lintuharrastusta
tunnetuksi ja kerätään varoja linnustonsuojeluun. Tornien taisto
järjestetään vuosittain toukokuussa.
This is the second cache of my "The Battle of Towers" cache series.
These caches present some of birdwatching towers in Pori and their
surroundings. "The Battle of Towers" is a birdwatching event
organised annually by BirdLife Finland in May.
Tornista näkee Riitsaranlahden lisäksi Leveäkariin ja
Preiviikinlahden rantoja aina Kuuminaisten niemenkärkeen asti.
Riitsaranlahden perälle kerääntyy loppukesällä vesilintuja
sulkimaan. Preiviikinlahden rantaniittyjen linnuston näkyvimpiä
ovat töyhtöhyyppä ja punajalkaviklo. Torni on puoliksi katettu,
joten lintuja voi tarkkailla niitä häiritsemättä. Kätkö on 1,2
litran kokoinen rasia, joten siihen mahtuu vaihto- ym.
tavaraa.

ja sitä jatketaan jalan metsätietä gepsin ohjeiden mukaan.
From this tower you can see Riitsaranlahti Bay, Leveäkari and the
shore of Preiviikinlahti Bay all the way to the cape of
Kuuminainen. In the end of summer lots of waterfowls cather to
Riitsaranlahti Bay to change their plumage. The most visible birds
here are Northern Lapwing (Vanellus vanellus) and Common Redshank
(Tringa totanus). Tower is halfly covered, so you can observe birds
without disturbing them. Cache is a 1,2 litre canister, so exchange
items and travel bugs fit in this cache.
