Geocache Description:

Neodymium is a chemical element with the symbol Nd. It is a soft silvery metal which tarnishes in air. The CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES. Figure out the puzzle below to get the correct coordinates. Parking nearby. Please be careful of our slithery friends and that nasty hazardous weed.

The reason I chose this interesting name is because neodymium magnets are the strongest permanent magnets known. A neodymium magnet of a few grams can lift a thousand times its own weight.

N 38° 39.ABC

A) Neodymium’s Atomic Weight is 1(A)4.24

B) Neodymium was discovered by Baron Carl Auer von Welsbach, an Austrian chemist, in Vienna in 188(B).

C) The number of electrons per shell for Neodymium is 2, 8, 18, (XY), 8, 2. ((((X) + (Y) = (C))))

W 121° 01.DEF

D) Neodymium was not isolated in relatively pure form until 19(D)5.

E) The CAS registry number for Neodymium is (E)440-00-8.

F) Neodymium’s Atomic Number is (F)0.

Please make sure you replace as you find it (with a little ink on the log that is).

As always, Enjoy
