Firstly, the name of the cache comes from the fact that I am
reusing the contents of a Team Rampant Lion geocache that Kevin had
me pick up. Several of you will see your name in the reused
logbook.
THEN Old Navy asked me to move the cache to place new caches in the
area--so I did hence the "redux"
In the Fall of 2007, my company was contact by the Great Swamp
Watershed Association Conservation Management Area to construct
several boardwalks through this area. In addition, we removed
invasive species, planted native flora and placed wood chips on
trails. We took credit for this restoration work as part of out EPA
Performance Track obligations.Since then, the facility I worked at
closed after 50 years of operations, we have a new president, the
EPA Performance Track has been canceled, and two of the trail
builders have passed away, and one of the geocachers that signed
the re-used logbook is also no longer with us. However, the work
that nearly 40 of us did remains.
Come and enjoy the trails, bring your boots and find the cache.
If you are lucky, you can come after a flood, like I did, with the
boardwalk encrusted in mud and observe the tracks left by animals
that live on the boardwalks. Bring your camera and come and see
what New Jersey would look like without any deer. Remember to close
the gate behind you.
