Geocache Description:

This is the second "Joey's Book Cache" the original is located off of Ardmore Tr in South Bend.

Kids can swap books, adults can sign the log. There is also a "What Tree is That", tree identification book. Feel free to borrow it but please leave with the cache.

Cache is an Ammo Box.

This cache is placed with permission, and is located in Fernwood Botanical Gardens and Nature Preserve along the beautiful St. Joseph River.

Since there are Visitor Fees (see below), take time to hike the other numerous trails and gardens, take a break with visits to the Nature Center and Gallery Exhibits and if your present at lunch time you can bring your own picnic or select something from the cafe. Please make sure you pick up a map of the grounds and follow Fernwood's No off trail hiking rules.

Parking is only allowed at the Mary Plym Visitor Center
at N41 51.919 W086 20.785. Please enter the grounds through this building entrance before starting your search for this, and all of the other Fernwood caches.

You may visit Fernwood during normal operating hours only:
Tuesday – Saturday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm EST
Sunday Noon – 5:00 pm EST
Closed on Mondays

Don’t forget to visit Nature Center Building while you are touring the property. The Nature Canter Building closes at 5:00pm each day.
