What better place for us to place a cache than this. This part of the Bethlehem wetland is beside the new Beaumaris Boulevard link road (Opened 8th August 2010) and has short bush walk within a busy residential area. There is lots of wildlife in the area so please take care of the surroundings.
PLEASE TAKE CARE WITH CHILDREN AS THERE IS WATER ALL AROUND THIS AREA.
The terrain is fairly easy going and the difficulty rating is set at 2.5 only due to the area being open and can be seen from the new road and the amount of people using the area for Walking,Running and Cycling.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN LOOKING FOR THIS CACHE DURING AND AFTER HEAVY RAIN.
THIS AREA IS DESIGNED AS A STORMWATER CATCHMENT AND THE TRACK BESIDE THE POND FLOODS IN HEAVY RAIN.
You can access the new link road from Cambridge Road via Sterling Gate Drive, From Moffat Road Via Beaumaris Boulevard and from the Bethlehem end of Waihi Road.
This is a great Cache for anyone that is “Just Passing Through” Tauranga as you can get to it off SH 2 in ether direction between Bethlehem and Tauranga city using the off ramps marked “Otumoetai via Waihi Rd” then follow the signs for Beaumaris Blvd.
The cache is a 500g round container painted black placed in a holder at the location.
PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THE HOLDER FROM THE LOCATION The cache just lifts out of it's holder.
When placing the cache back please make sure it is in it's holder properly.
