Geocache Description:

Ruins of a late 19th century incline railway that was abandoned prior to completion

William Street's Eyrie House was a mountaintop hotel which burned down in 1901. The inclined railway was under construction, along with a new hotel, from 1893 to that fateful night in April 1901. The new railway was to lead to the new hotel, a massive stone structure, now also in ruins. After the fire all construction ceased and William Street retired to his Holyoke home, a broken man. The coordinates for the first stage of this cache will bring you to a place where the second set of coordinates is carved in stone. Look for the builders monogram. Second stage is not too far from the first. Cache is a small lock and lock containing small items and a log book. This cache is on some fairly steep terrain, so please be careful. WATCH FOR TICKS!!!
