A Scout is Friendly.
A Scout is a friend to all. He is a brother to other Scouts. He
offers his friendship to people of all races and nations, and
respects them even if their beliefs and customs are different from
his own.
Cache to Eagle®
Celebrating Scouting Leadership and Service
Reaching the rank of Eagle Scout requires years of dedication and
hard work. In addition to 21 required merit badges, each Scout must
complete an extensive service project that he plans, organizes,
leads, and manages. On average, each Scout conducts 167 service
hours as part of that project. In 2008 alone, that translated to
$16 million* in service to communities across America. Cache to
Eagle is a partnership between Geoscouting, the BSA, and
Geocaching.com to highlight Eagle projects across the nation.
Through the program, participants set up normal public caches at
Eagle project sites that also happen to be good cache spots. Dozens
of public caches that showcase these remarkable sites are already
posted, and the initial response has been fantastic. Hundreds of
people visit the Eagle Scout projects, and many of them write
public notes on the logs at Geocaching.com.

About this cache and project:
This cache is named after the fourth point of the Scout Law, which
is "Friendly", after the friendship of the three Scouts in the
picture and a lot of other Scouts who created a life long
friendship through Scouting.
These three Scouts have been great friends with each other ever
since they met along the Scouting Trail. In fact two of them are
even roommates at college.
The ammo can cache is placed near this Eagle Scout Project planned
and executed by Michael Spiak a Scout from Troop 135 in Manchester
N.H.
He completed his project in 2005 and received his Eagle Rank
shortly after. The project consisted of building a Table and bench
along with another three benches around a fire pit.
The last time I was here was when I acually got to drive the Jeep
Wrangler out here with all the gear and supplies to help build the
project, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the condition of
the benches and table are in very good shape.
The picture below is from 2005 during the building of the project.
The three Scouts sitting on the table are Keith, Brendan and Mike,
which all made their Eagle Scout Rank the same year.
The picture below was taken on 12-19-2010. As you can see it is
still in very good shape. The quality of the build was planned for
longevity and will last a long time.
Below is another Eagle Scout Project we also found while walking
the trails. The Eagle Scout from Troop 426 created a map and
located all of the cellar holes. He also listed who actually lived
at these places. Very nice project and deserves to be visited while
you are here.
