Denna cache hette innan Fulling Mills Winter #5. Den har flyttats aningen och fått ett nytt utseende samt ny logg. Var försiktig med det strömmande vattnet, man behöver inte klättra på utsidan räcket på något vis.

This cache was called "Fulling Mills Winter #5" before. It has been slightly moved from the original pos. Be careful with the strong current in the water, no need to climb the railing to reach this cache.

Cachen är belägen vid kraftstationen i Upperud vid Upperudsälven som rinner genom Dalsland med start i Norska Römsjöen och mynning i Vänern. Sammanlagt har Upperudsälven ett avrinningsområde på 3270 km2. 14 kraftstationer är i drift i systemet. Upperuds kraftstation är belägen mellan sjöarna Upperudshöljan (uppströms) och Spången (nedströms). I över 300 år har människan utnyttjat kraften i forsen. På 1800-talet fanns Dalslands största industri här, med ett järnverk och tre sågverk. Ett träsliperi anlades på 1880-talet, vilket var i drift in på 1950-talet. Vattenfall köpte anläggningen 1981, rev den gamla 1983 och uppförde nytt vilket var i drift 1985. Kraftstationen har två turbiner av typen Semikaplan med en sammanlagd effekt om 2,4 MW. Vattenföringen genom stationen uppgår till ca 40 m3 i sekunden, och den årliga medelproduktionen är 10 GWh

The cache is situated by the powerplant in Upperud, located between the lakes “Upperudshöljan” (upstreams) and “Spången” (downstreams). The lakes are included in “Upperud river system”, which starts at the Norwegian lake Römsjöen and ends up in Swedish lake Vänern.

For more than 300 years the power in the fall has been used for servicing the mankind. In the 1800’s the largest industri in Dalsland was located here, producing/refining iron next to three sawmills. “Vattenfall” bought the premises 1981, tore it down to the ground in 1983, and rebuilt the facility to what we see today. The power plant has two turbines by type “Semikaplan” which has a combined effect of 2,4 MW. The flow through the station is up to 40 m3 per second. Yearly average electricity production is 10 GWh
