Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Warwick Demonstration Forest and Finch Township Recreational Trail.

During the fall hunting season remember to exercise caution and wear bright orange clothing.

Congratulations to Canuckeh on the F.T.F.

This area was heavily damaged by the great ice storm that hit the area in 1998. Many of the trees here were bent and/or broken under the accumulations of tons of ice that fell over the span of only a few days. It has been left as a reminder of how powerful Mother Nature can be and it also demonstrates how a forest recovers over time. The dramatic loss of crown cover has provided new opportunities for sun loving species of plants and trees. In addition, the broken stems and fallen debris provide great habitat for many species of animals, birds and insects.
