Wander through leapmoor forest
This is a nice wander up the forestry track in Leapmoor forest at the back of Inverkip. The path gets a wee bit steep but it's not too hard going and great for dogs. The forest has been harvested at the top end of the forest so there are pretty good views to be had on a nice day.
Community Windpower Ltd had plans to build a ten unit windfarm in the forest a few years back but the plan was rejected. I wonder what it would have looked like now and whether you would be allowed to wander around here??
Suggested access to the area is by following Millhouse road up from Inverkip and taking the road up past Langhill farm at the back of Inverkip. This road goes up to the water works buildings. Suggested parking is at N55 54.395 W004 50.726 and there is also some parking opposite the water works. The forest paths cut off left and right at the waterworks and the path straight ahead leads to Daff reservoir. Take the gate on the right. If you continue on the path it takes you out at one of the new housing developments near Langhouse at the back of Inverkip.
Not far from the cache there is another path that takes you out onto the moor and up to the trig point at Blood Moss.
