In early November 2010 we walked along here on part of the Newmarket Primary School Garden Walk. The house just south of GZ, Rannoch, was included. It is a house that is visible from the motorway and is of value from an historical perspective. It is set in a remnant of an original volcanic field bush and the garden is the setting for over 40 pieces of contemporary NZ scultpture. We suggest to get to the cache drive slowly down Almorah Road from Gilgit Road and take a squiz down the driveway.
The cache is a mint tin wrapped in black tape and held in place by magnets. Bring your own means to sign the log.
Because this cache should appeal to newbies I’ll remind you of the Geocaching 101 rules:
-Use stealth
-Consider where it might be before you begin your search. Does the name or hint have more than one meaning. Here GZ is not at either end of the most likely suspect and the last word of the hint should be used to zero in on the correct “posting” before being used in its entirety to put your hand right on the cache.
-Put the cache back exactly as found (otherwise the hints won’t work)
-Let the owner know how it went - especially if you didn’t find it.
