This cache has been archived.

The Lost Patrol: Checked on it today. Looks like some muggle has its number as it is missing again. I'll find another spot.

Geocache Description:

This is the seventh in an endless series of themed caches. It replaces my recently missing and archived Gold Ray cache.
Any resemblance between this cache and persons living or dead is coincidental.

Head out to the end of John Day Drive to the former site of Gold Ray Dam.
Gold Ray Dam was originally a log dam built in 1903 to supply electricity to local gold mines. The City of Medford was quick to tap into the hydropower. The log dam was replaced with concrete in 1946. Owned for many years by the COPCO power company the dam quit generating electricity in 1968. The property is now owned by Jackson County. The dam was recently removed to promote anadromous fish passage.
If you are here on a summer evening around or after sunset watch out for rattlesnakes.
It is a busy area during salmon season.
