"Burke said there were Three Estates in Parliament; but, in the Reporters' Gallery yonder, there sat a Fourth Estate more important far than they all." -- Thomas Carlyle
The Daily Sun and the Sunday Sun went on sale in Brisbane in 1982 as alternative morning newspapers to the Courier Mail and the Sunday Mail. In 1988, only days after the last issue of the Courier's afternoon sister tabloid, The Telegraph, the Daily Sun shifted to an afternoon publication. It remained in this position for just under four years before being closed down in December 1991, leading to a most unpleasant Christmas for many who suddenly found themselves out of a job.
The Sun building in Fortitude Valley remained vacant for some time before eventually going the way of many other sites in the area and being turned into apartments.
This cache, while not far from The Sun Building, is dedicated to a journalist who passed away decades before The Sun went to press. More information will be found at the final coordinates -- along with the object you seek, of course.
From the first waypoint (the street corner outside the Sun building, in case the satellites are being as uncooperative for you as they were for me here), the final coordinates are:
S 27 27.(Valley + Warner + 45)
E 153 02.0(Ballow - Warner - 6)
Note: As of 29-Oct-2012, the first waypoint has been damaged. While it's unavailable, alternate numbers can be found at:
S 27° 27.508 E 153° 02.099
using the following formula:-
S 27 27.(Valley + Chinatown + Police)
E 153 02.0(Valley - Chinatown - 101)
NOTE: This cache contains a clue for GC2K7BY Seventh Heaven.
