Don't trust your GPS map. Trust what you see. Urban cache hidden near the still under construction Federal Courthouse.
Architects of the new courthouse have created a classic curved facade that pulls the building to the corner of Lafayette and East State Street. The building’s curvature creates a public square and offers building occupants views of the river and the capitol.
Putting this new courthouse on the bluff at the old prison site represents the perfect combination of history and opportunity.
This courthouse will provide space for two District Courtrooms, two Magistrate Courtrooms and associated chambers to support each of these courtrooms. In addition to the courtrooms/chambers, there will be space for a Bankruptcy Chamber, the United States Marshals Service, United States Attorney, Probation and Pretrial Services. There will also be space for GSA, Senators and Congressmen.
Total Estimated Project Cost: $71 million
