L'oratorio fu edificato dai vicini verso la metà del 1600, ma fu terminato solo nel 1750. Si tratta di una costruzione a pianta centrale, con campanile a vela murato. I lavori di recupero di questo suggestivo edificio sacro hanno comportato principalmente il rifacimento del tetto, la pulizia dell'area circostante e la sistemazione dell'interno, dove vi è una pregiata tela raffigurante San Giorgio.

Narrano le cronache delle crociate che il Santo guerriero apparve diverse volte ai combattenti cristiani in occasioni particolarmente difficili, salvandoli o guidandoli alla vittoria. Il suo trionfo sul drago - che secondo alcuni rappresenterebbe Daziano, il crudele governatore romano particolarmente accanito contro i cristiani - è simbolo della vittoria sul paganesimo.
