No.5 - A pinfold or pound was an enclosure where stray animals were kept for collection by their owners, usually upon payment of a fee. They were impounded. At the north end of the village is what appears to be a pinfold, now a grassy area with a picnic table. The footpath into the woods runs up the 'bench' formed by the limestone crag behind the pound, but the fold is accessed from the road. You can safely park on the verge directly by the pinfold.
From Thrang Moss simply follow the straight footpath up the gentle rise to the road. Cache is a small L&L.
