Le château de la Martinie serait à l' origine une simple ferme fortifiée à la fin du 15e siècle par Alain de la Faye. A l' origine, le château était inscrit dans un trapèze fermé et cantonné de quatre tours carrées comme l' atteste le plan cadastral de 1809. L'ensemble à été remanié à différentes époques, notamment au 17e siècle. Une clef de la plate-bande de l' entrée du logis ouest porte la date de 1660. C'est après la Révolution que la famille de Segonzac, déjà en possession du château du même nom, achète celui de la Martinie.
Famille toujours représentée sur la commune actuellement.
La tour sud-est abrite une chapelle coiffée d' une voûte sur croisée d' ogives. L'enceinte est couronnée de mâchicoulis et d' un parapet inégalement crénelé. Une galerie permettait la circulation autour de l'enceinte. Il ne subsiste que le corps de logis ouest composé d' un étage carré et d' un chemin de ronde. En face, une galerie à arcades et fausse balustrade abrite les portes cochères et piétonnes qui autrefois étaient surmontées d' un toit en carène. L' ensemble est couvert de tuiles plates, sauf la galerie en tuile creuse. Les bâtiments agricoles s'organisent autour d' une cour centrale au sud du château.
