No Shortcuts in Life for the Moose Traditional Cache

Geocache Description:

Another BigScot Bypass micro. This one is north of the Carlsbad highway and is accessed from the north bound lane. Read the Description for more info on the name and location. This cache was placed for the Cache-mas post event.

This pull-off/ former road grabbed my eye even before there was geocaching. One Saturday on the way to the bowling lanes i saw what looked like a shortcut to the business next door to the lane. Upon further investigation as we whizzed by at 45 i saw a "road closed sign. After inquiring why this road was closed, I was told it was because to many people were using it as a back way to a local watering hole called the Moose Club. So there is no short cut to the moose or for the moose.

There is a lots of space to pull off the highway. If you have little ones with you, keep an eye on them. Watch out for the biting and stinging critters out in this part of the world.
